Usage: look
       look [in | at] [the] <item>
       look <direction>

For studying your surroundings.

Examples:

  > look
  > look AT the angel
  > look IN the bag
  > look south (May give some information as to what is south)

Note that if you [LOOK](/help/commands/look/) AT [CORPSE](/database#item-2756) you will not see its inventory.
To see what's inside a container (i.e. a corpse) use [LOOK](/help/commands/look/) IN <object>.

Looking in directions will show you either a description of the door
in that direction (if any), a generalized one line description of what
lies in that direction, or the actual room itself.  Players may turn off
full room listings while using look [direction] by playing in [BRIEF](/help/commands/brief/) mode.
